Papa’s operation has gone well
“Schalke will be without central defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos for the final two games of 2012. Papadopoulos underwent surgery in Augsburg on Monday after being diagnosed with a persistent inflammation of the left knee.
The operation was conducted by knee specialist Dr Ulrich Boenisch and was a success. It is not yet clear how long Papadopoulos will be sidelined or whether his absence will extend beyond the winter break.
The Greece international had suffered from knee problems for several weeks and last ran out for the Royal Blues at Hamburg on matchday 14”
